ROCHELLE — The Flagg-Rochelle Public Library and the Hub Senior Center invited area seniors to an evening of dinner and musical entertainment at the senior center Saturday.
Dinner included bratwurst, sauerkraut, German potato salad and German chocolate cake.
Everyone danced to the tunes from the Mike Schneider Polka band, which included an accordion, banjo and drums.
“Oktoberfest was a wonderful evening where the Library and the Hub City Senior Center can be community partners and sponsor a great event to kick off the Oktoberfest season,” said Sarah Flanagan, Flagg-Rochelle Public Library Director. “We ate a traditional German Style dinner and the Mike Schneider Band played while community members danced the night away to polkas and waltzes. A fabulous time was had by all.”
