Ogle County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a two vehicle accident at Hemstock and Skare Road Sunday morning at 10:04 a.m.
After an investigation deputies learned Donald Marsh, 69, of Rochelle, was traveling westbound on Hemstock Road and failed to yield the right of way. Marsh was struck by another vehicle which was traveling northbound on Skare Road, driven by Thomas Reed, 36, of Rochelle.
Both vehicles suffered major body damage due to the incident.
Marsh was flown to OSF Saint Anthony’s Hospital for treatment of his injuries. Reed refused medical treatment; however, his three passengers were transported to Rochelle Community Hospital by Rochelle ambulance for treatment of minor injuries.
The incident is still under investigation pending charges.
As of Tuesday morning, Marsh was listed in critical condition.
