On Dec. 3. at 3:29 p.m., the Ogle County Sheriff’s Office, Byron Fire Department and the Bryon Ambulance responded to a one-vehicle accident in front of 428 E. Illinois Route 72. A silver Toyota was traveling eastbound on Illinois Route 72 when it left the north side of the road. The vehicle struck an embankment before travelling into a field and coming to a stop. The driver of the vehicle, Barbara A. Kinner, 81, of Oregon, was transported to the Mercy Health by the Byron ambulance with minor injuries. The accident remains under investigation.
