ROCHELLE — Orletha B. Rednour, 91, passed away Monday, April 10, 2017 at her home. Orletha was born March 7, 1926 to Earl and Nora (Schone) Parsons in Eureka. She married Donald H. Rednour on Dec. 8, 1951 in Genoa. He preceded her in death on April 21, 2006.
She was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Lee and the Priscilla Circle. Orletha was known far and wide for her amazing cakes. She started with birthday and graduation cakes, then taking on wedding cakes and eventually catering for weddings.
Orletha is survived by her children, Gale (Susan) Rednour of Pecatonica, and Connie (Richard) Gage of Gainesville, Ga.; four grandchildren, Crystal Rednour, Abraham (Maddie) Rednour, Patricia (Spencer) Showers and Monica Rednour; and three great-grandchildren, Morgan River Rain, Kayla Wells and Daisy.
The visitation will be from 10 – 11 a.m. on Monday, April 17 at Calvary Lutheran Church, 19 Perry Road, Lee. The funeral will follow at 11 a.m. that day with Pastor Martha Nelson officiating. Burial will be at Union Cemetery next to the church. Memorials may be made in Orletha’s name to Calvary Lutheran Church.
