ROCHELLE — On Tuesday, an Illinois Route 251 overpass dedication to John B. “Jack” Roe will be held at the Flagg Rochelle Public Library at 619 4th Ave. in Rochelle at 11 a.m.

The community is invited to join Mayor John Bearrows, Representative Tom Demmer and Senator Brian Stewart at the library in honoring Roe by dedicating the overpass in his name. Roe’s commitment to Rochelle during his tenure as a state senator and beyond resulted in construction of the overpass, a much-needed improvement to connect our community. The library will have a display of overpass history and light refreshments will be served.

Family and friends of Roe will be in attendance at the event.
