ROCHELLE — Pam M. Schmidt, 57, passed away Thursday, April 18, 2019 in Rockford. Pam was born on May 20, 1961 to Vincent and Kathleen (Dalberg) Johanning in Richland Center, Wisconsin.
Pam worked for the USPS in Rochelle and Rockford for over 15 years. She was an avid bowler and loved the Chicago Cubs. She babysat for many years and came to be known as mom and aunt to those kids. Pam’s favorite pastime was spending time with her grandchildren and grand puppy, Eddie Schmidt.
Pam is survived by three sons, Joey (Jennifer) Johanning, Gregory Schmidt and Matt (Mandy) Schmidt; six grandchildren, McKenzy Johanning, Mackenzie Schmidt, Brevyn Johanning, Ryan Schmidt, Ryder Schmidt and Addylynn Johanning; the father of her children, Glenn Schmidt; five brothers, Jerome (Sandy) Johanning, Roger (Patty) Johanning, Eric (Lori) Johanning, Brian Johanning and John (Sherrie) Anderson; and many nieces and nephews.
Pam is preceded in death by her parents, Vincent Johanning, Kenneth Anderson and Kathleen Johanning-Anderson and a brother, Kirk Johanning.
Cremation care has been provided by the Unger-Horner Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Rochelle. A celebration of life will be from 2-6 p.m. on Monday, April 22 at the Harvest Baptist Church, 241 Scott Avenue, in Rochelle (Hillcrest). A very brief prayer service will be held at 5 p.m. at the church.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family for the benefit of Pam’s grandchildren.
