ROCHELLE — Patti Ann Harris, 57, passed away unexpectedly on May 27, 2020 at her home in Rochelle.
Patti was born on Nov. 28, 1962 in Rochelle to Walter J. Jr. and Marjorie R. (Breseman) Harris. She graduated from the Ashton High School in 1980, where she played the oboe, sang in the chorus and was in the Color Guard.
Patti worked for Crest Foods in Ashton for 20 years. She proudly earned safety award suggestions during her tenure there. Before ill health forced her retirement, she worked as a caregiver in the Tri County region. She took a special interest and care with her clients.
Patti loved living in the country for over 40 years and enjoyed family cookouts and bonfires. She loved to reminisce about all the fun times and funny family stories. She took care of both parents’ medical needs during their later years until their deaths. She loved listening to music, especially John Denver and watching her favorite movies; she could recite the scenes by heart from “Overboard.” She was very loving and caring and would do anything she could to help someone. She would give a friend in need her last dollar.
Her daughter, Malinda M. Harris, of Rochelle survives Patti. Patti thoroughly enjoyed trips to Florida and Santa’s Village when Mindy was a youngster. She was very proud of Mindy’s cooking talents. Her granddaughter, Alexia Nance, of Rochelle, was Patti’s sunshine. Lexi brought much joy to Patti when she sang and danced for her.
Patti is also survived by her brother, Walter J. (Champ) Harris III of Franklin Grove, Carole (Andy) Taylor of Rochelle, and Lori (Dan) Hillison of Ashton, three nephews, one niece, and two aunts.
Patti also leaves behind her beloved cat, Tiger, who was a wonderful companion for 10 years.
Patti will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
There will be a Celebration of Life at a later date. Cremation care was handled by the Unger-Horner Funeral Home in Rochelle.
