ROCHELLE – Candidate packets for, one 4-year full term office of mayor and three 4-year full term council members in the City of Rochelle are available in the city clerk’s office at Rochelle City Hall located at 420 N 6th Street.
Petitions may be circulated as of Aug. 28.
City residents running for office must file as if there will be a primary election involving five or more candidates for the Office of the Mayor and 13 or more candidates for the office of council member. If required, the Consolidated Primary Election will be held on Feb. 26, 2019.

If there are not five or more candidates for the Office of the Mayor or 13 or more candidates for the office of council member, there will not be a primary and the names of the candidates will be placed on the ballot for the Consolidated General Election to be held on April 2, 2019. 
Mayor Chet Olson and council members Bil Hayes, Tom McDermott and Don Burke have terms expiring in 2019.
Notice is hereby given that the Rochelle City Clerk’s Office will be open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Nov. 19, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Nov. 20 through Nov. 21 and from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Nov. 26 for the purpose of accepting candidate petitions or certificates for the Consolidated Primary Election to be held Feb. 26, 2019.
City hall will be closed Nov. 22 and 23 for Thanksgiving.
