ROCHELLE — In a little over a week, the city will be hosting the Third Annual Hay Day in downtown Rochelle.
The event is set for Saturday, Oct. 13 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and features a wide variety of activities for all ages.
“The family-friendly, fall event features a petting zoo, giant inflatables, tractors, face painting by the RTHS Interact Club, a magician, fall treats and more!” said Jenny Thompson, Marketing and Public Relations for Rochelle. “The Flagg Rochelle Library will host pumpkin art at the event and City Hall hosts a pumpkin decorating contest for school ages through adult beginning Oct. 10.”
There will be a place for feeding and changing the festival’s youngest visitors along with sensory bins provided by Happy Babies.
The Ogle County 4-H Club is hosting activities for kids of all ages and the Rochelle Performing Arts Academy will perform at noon, as well as host a bake sale.
Food is available from El Senior del los Tacos, Off the Wall and the Masonic Temple and music will be provided by The Templetons bluegrass brand.
“The excitement we’re hearing from local kids is what makes this entire event worthwhile for the City’s planning team! Hay Day has been such a fun way to bring our community together,” Thompson said. “Nearly 40 hay bales have been decorated around Rochelle for the event. Take a drive and check them out!”
