Council to meet Thursday to discuss severance agreement

ROCHELLE — The Rochelle City Council will meet in special session Thursday, March 23 at 5:30 p.m. and is expected to approve a severance agreement with city manager David Plyman, who has been relieved of his duties after just more than five years on the job.
The special meeting agenda sent out by city officials Tuesday afternoon includes an executive session to discuss two items: The appointment, employment, compensation, performance or dismissal of specific employees of the public body [5ILCS120/2(c)(1)] and pending or threatening litigation. [5ILCS120(c)(11)].
Following executive session, council members are expected to return to open session to approve a business item. According to the agenda, the approval of a severance agreement with the city manager is expected to be approved.
The meeting will be held in council chambers at Rochelle City Hall at 5:30 p.m. The meeting is open to the public.
