On July 20 At 8:18 a.m., Rochelle police arrested Joseph D. Caldwell, 28, of Polo, for criminal sex assault. He was transported to jail. Caldwell allegedly met a 14-year old girl online. He then picked her up as the alleged incident took place at a Rochelle hotel. Caldwell returns to court on Aug. 12 for a preliminary status hearing. He remains in jail in lieu of a $200,000 bond.
On July 28 at 11:52 a.m., Rochelle police arrested Marcus L. Smith, 31, of Rockford, for driving with a suspended license and operating a vehicle with expired registration. He posted I-Bond. His court date is set for Sept. 11.
On July 29 at 11:35 a.m., Rochelle police cited Amanda N. Nuckles, 27, of Rochelle, for two counts of having a dog at large.
On July 30 at 9:26 p.m., Rochelle police arrested Richard A. Debenedetti, 38, of Machesney Park, on a Whiteside County warrant. He posted $500 Bond. His court date is set for Sept. 29.
