Prescott Brothers Ford, We Care Rochelle team up for Toy Drive

ROCHELLE – Prescott Brothers Ford and We Care Rochelle are hosting its first annual Rochelle Family Toy Drive.

Prescott Brothers and We Care Rochelle are asking the community for donations of new, unused, toys that are still in the box that will be distributed to needy families in Rochelle this holiday season. The toys can be anything for kids ages infant to teenager, both male and female. The only restriction is no weapons or lookalikes.

Donations can be made by dropping the gifts off at Prescott Ford in Rochelle By Dec. 22 and then the gifts will be delivered to families on Dec. 23.

“On Dec. 22 we are going to wrap the gifts and then on the Dec. 23 we are going to deliver those gifts to local families,” explained Ryan Greifenkamp, co-founder of We Care Rochelle. “We are literally going to meet up on that Monday and go out in groups to households to deliver those gifts.”

The families that are in need will be determined by speaking with local organizations that help the needy such as the Rochelle Rescue Mission and the Rochelle Christian Food Pantry, but they are also looking for 25 families in need. If you are a family or know of a family that could benefit from the donation, contact Greifenkamp by e-mail at RyanGkamp@gmail.com or by phone at 847-802-8961.

“There is nothing worse than going back to school after Christmas break, and some kids Santa brought them everything under the sun, while other kids are left thinking that Santa must not like them,” added Greifenkamp. “Everyone deserves a Christmas.”

This was the first year for the Prescott Brothers Toy Drive, but they have hopes of making it an annual event.
