Rockford – Martin C. Larson, chairman and CEO of Stillman BancCorp N.A. is pleased to announce that Thomas R. Hughes, president and COO of Stillman BancCorp N.A., has been promoted to serve as the holding company’s president. In addition, Edward Munguia, executive vice president of Stillman BancCorp, N.A., has been promoted to serve as the holding company’s executive vice president.

Thomas R. Hughes, President and COO
Hughes joined the bank in 1995 and with over 32 years of banking experience, specializes in agricultural and commercial lending.  He earned his bachelor’s degree in agribusiness from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville and his MBA from Lewis University.  He is also a graduate of the Graduate School of Banking in Madison, Wisconsin, and the Community Bankers Association of Illinois (CBAI) School for Community Bankers.
He has been very active in the community throughout his career.  He currently serves as a board member for the Ogle County Habitat for Humanity and the Stillman Valley Economic Development Committee. In the past, Hughes served as a board member for the Ogle County Fair Association and the Oregon Chamber of Commerce. He also has served as chairperson for the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life and was a member of the capital campaign committee for Rock River Center, Inc.

Edward Munguia, Executive Vice President
Ed Munguia serves as Executive Vice President of the bank’s Rockford and Roscoe/Rockton locations.  He has been in banking for 40 years and earned his bachelor’s degree in finance from DePaul University.
He is involved with a variety of economic development initiatives in the Rockford area.  He currently serves as a board member of the Rockford Area Economic Development Corporation (RAEDC).  He is also a board member of the Rockford Local Development Corporation and President of the Northern Illinois Community Development Corporation. 

In addition, the Board of Directors also moved to promote the following bank officers:

Shawn Cannova (4.2019) 3x4

Shawn R. Cannova, Vice President Operations
Shawn Cannova has been in banking for 32 years, the last 15 with Stillman Bank. She earned her associates degree in accounting from Highland Community College. Shawn oversees the bank’s Customer & Loan Accounting departments and is responsible for the deposit and loan operational functions and the bank’s call center.
She volunteers for various bank sponsored events throughout the year including Oregon Park District’s Concert in the Park, Community Shred Day, Stillman Valley’s Cardinal Community Christmas, local festival parades and more. She assists the Stillman Valley Fall Festival Committee and also volunteers at the Ogle County Fair. In the past she has volunteered for Oregon’s Autumn on Parade.

Kathy Yocum (4.2010) 3x4

Kathleen M. Yocum, Vice President Retail Banking
Kathy Yocum brings more than 35 years of banking experience to her role as vice president retail banking in the Rochelle office. She has been with Stillman Bank since it acquired the former United Bank of Rochelle in 1987.
She earned her associates degree in business management from Sauk Valley Community College. Yocum is responsible for supporting and helping customers access a variety of bank products and services.  She also assists with general operational and teller matters in our Rochelle office, and often delivers technical training to employees bank-wide.
As a long-time resident of the area, she is very involved in the community. She is a current board member of the Lincoln Highway Heritage Festival, treasurer of the Franklin Grove Woman’s Club, secretary/treasurer of LHCS Friends of the Parks and Recreation and a member of the Franklin Grove Community Church council. She also serves as community building coordinator and secretary for the Franklin Grove Park Board. She is a member of the Rochelle Rotary and also serves as a delegate for the Rochelle Chamber.

Ben Miller (4.2019) 3x4

Benjamin D. Miller, Information Technology Officer
Benjamin Miller has been with the Stillman Bank for over 11 years. He earned his associates degree in computer and electronics engineering Technology from ITT Technical Institute. He oversees the various computer operating systems and networks used at the bank.
He has taught several classes at local schools and senior centers about computer literacy and cyber security. Miller has also served as the Deacon over IT at Harvest Bible Chapel of Rockford.  In that role he oversees and manages all IT systems for Harvest and provides staff support when necessary.  He also serves as a lead teacher once a month in their Harvest Kids Sunday School program in the Preschool 4s class.
