ST. LOUIS, Mo. — Ranger David Hemenway, 87, years old (1929-2017), died in Christian Hospital in St. Louis, Mo., on Jan. 6, 2017. He was born July 22, 1929 in Rochelle, and was the son of William Merwin Hemenway and Edith Ranger Hemenway.
David was preceded in death by his younger brother, Lucien William Hemenway. 
David is survived by his sister, Anne Hemenway Parler; four nieces and nephews; 12 great-nieces and nephews; and one great-great niece. 
David was a graduate of the University of Illinois with a double major in Chemistry and Calculus. During the Korean War, David was in the U.S. Army and stationed at Havre de Grace, Md., working in research science for the Government War effort. David received a certificate from the Army as a Expert in Rifle Training. Following his Military Service, David moved to St. Louis and worked for Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals in Medical Research Programs.
A Master Mason for 64 years, David was raised a Master Mason in the Alto Lodge No. 922 in 1952 which then merged with the Horicon Lodge No. 244 of Rochelle in 1989. David was a faithful member of the Centenary United Methodist Church in St. Louis, Mo.
David was cremated. A private graveside service will be held at the Steward Methodist Community Cemetery in Steward in the Spring.
