On Monday, April 12, vaccination appointments are opening up statewide to include anyone over the age of 16. however, 16 and 17 year olds need written parental consent and are currently approved for the Pfizer vaccine only.
The Ogle County Health Department is working with all high schools in the county to vaccinate this age group next week.
With recent increases in positive cases in Ogle County, community members are advised to continue wearing a mask, staying at least 6 feet away from others, avoiding crowds and washing your hands often. No one tool alone is going to stop the pandemic.
