ROCHELLE — The hardworking people of this community are the true owners of Rochelle Community Hospital.
Philanthropy is an important part of Rochelle Community Hospital’s past, present, and future. Former loyal Rochelle residents understood the importance of generosity to ensure quality and affordable healthcare and fought hard to retain the hospital and because of this, the Rochelle Community Hospital Foundation is fortunate to have a strong history of community support and hopes to inspire new loyal supporters to continue that same spirit of giving.
The Rochelle Community Hospital Foundation plays a vital role in sustaining the hospital’s dedication to excellence through its generous charitable gifts and strong community ties.
“We have been very lucky to have a great foundation board made up of local people wanting to make a difference in the community where they live,” stated Michelle LaPage, RCH Community and Organizational Development Manager. “The mission of the foundation is to develop and grow financial resources to support Rochelle Community Hospital in providing excellence in healthcare for our community.”
Rochelle Community Hospital Foundation provides meaningful support for community health resources, patient care, and medical facility improvements.
“Having previously worked in healthcare for over 40 years I have seen what a difference 30 minutes can make in the treatment of a seriously ill/injured patient. If there was no RCH our community members would have to be transported to another facility to receive emergency care,” RCH Foundation Secretary Debbie Kersten said. “Our community deserves quality care in our home town.”

Today and every day, the community has the opportunity to make a difference in someone’s life, maybe even someone you know and love. There are many ways you can help support the Rochelle Community Hospital Foundation, allowing them to respond to the constant changes in healthcare, and allowing them to take care of you and your family.
Your tax-deductible gift will have a direct impact on the lives of so many –  people such as:
• an infusion patient who counts on IV fluids and medications weekly that doesn’t need to travel out-of-town.
• a grandma that just had a stroke, is rushed to the Emergency Department, evaluated and transported to another hospital for more extensive care.
• a dad that needs cataract surgery and can stay close to home so his kids can help him with his post-surgery drops and instructions.
• your friend that just turned the big 5-0 and now needs to get that colonoscopy checked off their bucket list
• the apprehensive mom that is scheduling her yearly mammogram in her hometown so she can go before work and not have to take time off.

“Growing up in Rochelle and experiencing childhood injuries, I didn’t appreciate that we could drive just a few blocks to the emergency room or that Doctor Delfinado would many times be there before we were done checking in,” foundation treasurer Earl Fleming said. “I eventually realized the value of having a community hospital that offers a wide array of quality healthcare services. These quality services being local and within minutes of treatment can make a huge difference in the outcome. The hospital foundation is committed to supporting the hospital’s ancillary needs. One example of this would be a fund that is dedicated to providing essential equipment to provide quality care. But, the foundation provides much more than that such as appropriating funds directly to the patients immediate needs, health improvement programs, and community education”
Rochelle Community Hospital has been serving the healthcare needs of families in Rochelle, Ogle County and surrounding areas for more than 100 years. Rochelle Community Hospital offers a wide variety of services right here in your own community, close to home and close to their patients. They pride themselves on being a small community hospital that gives their patients the extra attention and service they deserve. They are your resource to wellness.
