ROCHELLE — Everyone enjoys helping a great cause. Include a walk or run in the fresh air with family and friends and it becomes the CincoK!
Join HOPE of Ogle County, LULAC and the City of Rochelle to move for a great cause in the third annual CincoK Run/Walk on Saturday, May 6 at 1 p.m. The event kicks off the Rochelle Cinco de Mayo festival. Starting point for the 5K run/walk is at the Four Sisters Bike Path off Parkview Drive by the First Presbyterian Church. Check-in starts at 12 p.m.
All proceeds go to the local domestic violence agency and shelter that serve Ogle and Lee counties. HOPE of Ogle County provided shelter, counseling services, court advocacy, Latina advocacy and transitional housing to 361 adults and 170 children in the past fiscal year.
“This year state general funding has been excluded for domestic violence funding until a state budget is passed or legislation for domestic violence funding is passed through,” said Ruth Carter, Executive Director, HOPE of Ogle County. “Now more than ever we could use your help to donate to this year’s CincoK.”

Registration
Registration fee is $25 per person and includes a t-shirt, or a group of four priced at $20 each; children 12 and under is $10 with t-shirt. Register online through EventBrite or in person at the Rochelle Park District office at 735 North Second Street, 815-562-7813.
Register by April 18 to guarantee a t-shirt.
Event organizers said strollers are welcome, but are asking that participants please leave canine friends at home.
“We are excited about our third annual CincoK, 5K run/walk, in collaboration with LULAC and the City of Rochelle.  Last year’s CincoK had a wonderful turnout and the weather was beautiful. It was a fun time for adults and children of all ages. We hope to have even more community members, walkers, joggers and runners join us this year and look forward to moving for a great cause,” Carter said.
Adding, “I would like to thank you in advance for considering being a donor to this year’s CincoK.”
