WOODSTOCK — Juniors Morgan Knight, Morgan Baker, Jacie Wyatt and Cesca Vardman already have several record-setting performances under their belts, but the Lady Hub juniors made even more history when Rochelle traveled to Woodstock this past Friday for the Woodstock Varsity Invitational.

Representing the 1600-meter relay team, the four juniors took first place in the event while breaking the previous meet record with a time of 4:06.06. The performance was one of the reasons Rochelle finished eighth overall out of 15 teams with 15 points scored.

The Lady Hubs placed sixth in the 400-meter relay, with Vardman, Knight, Wyatt and freshman Macey Ryan clocking in at 51.80. Rochelle took fourth in the 800-meter relay behind Vardman, Knight, Baker and Wyatt, who ran a time of 1:47.96.

Sophomores Abby Tilton and Cheyene Watson led the team in the 100-meter hurdles, with Tilton (13th at 18.89) and Watson (15th at 19.28) both recording top-15 finishes. Tilton also placed 11th in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 52.69. Sophomore Cam Turner smashed her personal record in the 400-meter dash, placing 10th with a time of 1:05.81, while freshman Emma Smith’s time of 2:39.75 in the 800-meter run earned her 16th place.

Ryan’s time of 28.69 in the 200-meter dash earned her 13th place and rounded out the top Rochelle finishers in the racing events. In the field events, freshmen Gabby Harding (13th in discus, 16th in shot put) and Cristina Alfano (14th in discus, 18th in shot put) each totaled two top-20 finishes.
