Congressman Adam Kinzinger (IL-16) has announced the start of the 2020 Congressional Art Competition. As the competition celebrates its 39th year, the Office of Congressman Kinzinger will now be accepting submissions from all high school students that live in the 16th Congressional District.

Rep. Kinzinger announces 2020 Congressional art contest

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Adam Kinzinger (IL-16) has announced the start of the 2020 Congressional Art Competition. As the competition celebrates its 39th year, the Office of Congressman Kinzinger will now be accepting submissions from all high school students that live in the 16th Congressional District. 

In making this announcement, Congressman Kinzinger released the following statement:

“Each year, talented students from across the United States exhibit their creativity in the Congressional Art Competition and every year, I am amazed by the quality artwork we receive. I’m looking forward to seeing the skilled works of art in this year’s submissions and encourage all students to take this opportunity and their unexpected extra time at home to showcase their talents for the whole country to enjoy.” 

The Congressional Art Competition offers high school students from across the country to showcase their artistic abilities and creativity. First-place winners will have their artwork displayed in the Cannon Tunnel leading to the Capitol for one full year. In addition, winners will be awarded two tickets to Washington, D.C. to attend the official art show opening and a subsequent reception hosted by the Congressional Institute. 

The submission deadline for the 39th Annual Congressional Art Competition isFriday, April 24 at 5 p.m. CT in the Ottawa District Office. All high school students living in the 16th Congressional District of Illinois are encouraged to participate.
