ROCHELLE — Richard Alden Johnson, 64, passed away Saturday, Oct. 21, 2017 in Rochelle. Rick was born Oct. 3, 1953 to Johnny and Myrtle “Honey” (Helgeson) Johnson in Rochelle.
After graduating from Rochelle Township High School, he proudly served with the United States Navy and deployed to Okinawa.
Rick is survived by his brother, Gene (Pamela) Osborne of Rochelle; four nieces, Linda Whitener, Diana (Norman) Wallace, Robin (Lori) Rethwill and Renee Sidebottom; and special friend, Carolyn McBride.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Fern Coats; two brothers, Thomas McGill and Robert Johnson; and niece, Donna Kinser Sidebottom.
There will be a graveside military service provided by the Eastern Lee-Ogle Honor Guard and the United States Navy at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 31 at Lawnridge Cemetery.
