ROCHELLE — Richard August Lindquist, 72, of Rochelle, passed away Saturday, March 11, 2017 at his home in Rochelle. Richard was born Nov. 15, 1944 in Rochelle, the son of Chester and Viola (Felgenhauer) Lindquist. He graduated from Rochelle Township High school. Richard served in the United States Air Force.
He is preceded in death by his father.
Richard was a proud truck driver, logging more than five million miles, working for several companies over the years including Speed trucking, Caron International, Daymark Trucking and Graphic Arts Trucking out of Oregon. With a collection of more than 300 fishing rods it was obvious he loved to be on the water.
Richard is survived by his mother, Viola Lindquist of Rochelle; brother, John Lindquist of Rochelle; and four nieces and nephews, Craig Mcintyre, Tanya Lindquist, Lilian Zoss and Nicholas Lindquist.
A memorial visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 16, at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home in Rochelle. A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. with Chaplin Judy Williams at the funeral home. Military honors will be provided by the Eastern Lee-Ogle Honor Guard.
