ROCHELLE — Richard Lee Stoll, 75, passed away Monday, Jan. 8, 2018 at his home in Rochelle. Dick was born on Jan. 7, 1943 to Donald H. and Elizabeth B. (Reuss) Stoll in Sycamore. He married Patricia Ann Dittbenner on Aug. 21, 1965 in Belvidere. 
Dick was a farmer for most of his life. After leaving farming, Dick was a custodian at RTHS for 13 years.  He loved many things outdoors including bird watching and feeding.  He was also an avid gardener and loved to watch the weather roll in.  He enjoyed fishing, especially in the North Woods of Minnesota.
Dick is survived by his wife of 52 years, Patricia, of Rochelle; five children, Susan (David) Degelau of Rochelle, John Stoll of Naples, Fla., Carrie (Cliff) Smart of Rochelle, Timothy (Chelsea) Stoll Sr. of Kingsport, Tenn., and Elizabeth (Jonathan) Petrash of Victoria, Texas; brother, Kenneth (Jan) Stoll of Esmond; 16 grandchildren, Bradley (Brittany) Degelau, Christopher Degelau, Brian Stoll, Joseph Stoll, Brittney Stoll, Kyle (Emma) Smart, Kole (Brittany) Smart, Kara Smart, Timothy Stoll Jr., Jasmine (Michael) Cox, Connie Stoll, Bailey Wallen, Kiya Wallen, Dalton Petrash, Victoria Petrash, and Riley Petrash; three great-grandchildren, Benjamin Kelley, Aurora Cox and Aribella Cox; and his beloved fur baby, Bristol.
The visitation will be from 4 – 7 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 11 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. Sixth St., Rochelle. The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 12 at the funeral home with Pastor Rob Hamilton officiating.  Burial will follow at Greenview Cemetery in Esmond. Memorials may be made in Dick’s name to the Humane Society or Diabetes Foundation.
