ROCHELLE — Rita L. Bearrows, 90, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2017, at Franklin Grove Living and Rehab Center. She was born July 14, 1927 in Rochelle, the daughter of Paul and Lucille (Hall) Lower. She was united in marriage to Clyde W. Bearrows on July 9, 1946 in Macomb. He preceded her in death on Nov. 10, 2002.
Rita is also preceded in death by her parents; brother, John Lower; granddaughter, Denise H. Moore; and great-grandchildren, Lucas Kenneth and Addison Clara Moore.
Rita is survived by her children, Judy (Bill) Halsey of Fuquay-Varina, N.C., Jim (Sandy) Bearrows of Cary, N.C., and John (Dina) Bearrows of Rochelle; grandchildren, Dawn (Brian) Swayney, Julie Bearrows, Mandy Bearrows, Megan (Rick) Williams, Scott (Beth) Bearrows, and Jen, Chad, and Troy Scott; grandson-in-law, Levi Moore; great-grandchildren, Sarah Swayney, Taylor, Hailey and Jonathan Bearows, Marissa and Dylan Whaley (and their father, Jason Whaley), Brady, Caleb, and Tessa Williams, Ellie and Sutton Bearrows, Alex and Gabe Neece, and Jordan Scott; siblings, Paul Lower, Patricia Esterday, and Joanne (Don) Rodge; and a sister-in-law, Laureen Lower.
Visitation will be from 4 – 7 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 17 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. Sixth St., in Rochelle.
A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 18 at the funeral home with Pastor Doug Forsberg officiating. Interment will follow in Flagg Center Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Hub City Senior Center.
