ROCHELLE — Robert James Bowers, 66, of Rochelle, passed away Nov. 30, 2018.
Robert was born Dec. 11, 1951 to George C. and Rogene A. (Vogeler) Bowers.
He was a graduate of Rochelle Township High School and was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in Germany.
Robert owned Bowers Roofing, was a co-founder of the turkey giveaway at Calvary Lighthouse Church and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his sister, Donna L. Shaw; niece, Danette Clark; nephew, Damon Shaw; and friends Bill Schermerhorn and Jason Storey, also his caregiver.
Robert was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Dan C. Shaw and a nephew-in-law, Kevin Clark.
A military burial will be held in Ashton in the spring.
