ROCHELLE — Robert H. Myroth, 90, of Rochelle, passed away Dec. 28, 2016 at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center Rockford surrounded by his loving family. Bob was born on Sept. 10, 1926 in Rochelle to the late Henry and Amelia (Hess) Myroth.
Bob graduated from Rochelle Township High School and served his country with the U.S. Army during WWII. Vera and Bob ran their grocery store in Rochelle for many years. Bob also sold cars for many years from several dealerships in town. Bob was a proud member of the Floyd J. Tilton VFW POST 3878 Rochelle. He enjoyed trains, bears and cars.
He is survived by his loving wife, Vera Ann Myroth; his son, Michael (Mary) Myroth of Esmond; grandchildren, Jessica (Jason Erlandson) Myroth-Erlandson of DeKalb, Susan (Mark) Schabacker of Rochelle and LaDonna (Timothy Kolk) Myroth of Sunnyside, N.Y.; great-grandchildren, Victoria, Aurora, Isabella, James, Liam Myroth-Erlandson and Miles Kolk; and sister-in-law, Lila Maynard of Princeton, Iowa.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his in-laws, Kelly and Rose Austin; sons, Larry and Dannie Myroth and great-grandson, Noah Schabacker.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, Jan. 4 at 12 p.m. at the Beverage Lyons Family Funeral Home, 704 N. Sixth Street, Rochelle, with visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will follow to Lawnridge Cemetery in Rochelle with full Military Honors provided by the Eastern Lee-Ogle Honor Guard and U.S. Army. Memorials may be directed to the family.
