Chuck Roberts of Rochelle participated in the 128^th Big Rock Plowing Match last weekend and took fourth place out of 14 in the antique rubber tire tractor division. The antique rubber tire division consists of tractors of 1939 vintage or older.  He used a 1936 Farmall F-12 tractor pulling a John Deere two-bottom plow. The maximum number of points allotted to a participant are as follows: back furrow 25 points, uniformity of furrows 25 points, line of furrows 25 points, trash coverage 15 points and general neatness 10 points. Roberts’ score was 84 out of 100. The plowing match rules require a one or two-bottom plow, seven rounds of plowing on a particular assigned area, no usage of electronic aids such as GPS systems during plowing and tractors of 1939 vintage or older. This F-12 tractor has F-14 pistons installed and a lower gear ratio to pull a two-bottom plow.
