Rochelle man gets jail time for sexual assault


ROCHELLE — A Rochelle man pled guilty in Ogle County Court Wednesday to charges of aggravated criminal sexual abuse.
Faustino Ramirez, 31, of Rochelle, was arrested in December after allegations he had sexual contact with a female juvenile in rural Rochelle on Dec. 2. With assistance from the Rockford Police Department, Ogle County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Ramirez the following day.
Ramirez was charged with the Class 2 felony of aggravated criminal sexual abuse. Following the plea Wednesday, Ramirez will serve 180 days in jail and three years probation upon release. He must also register as a sex offender for the remainder of his life.
He will also pay fine and court costs totaling $2,746.
