Rochelle Police Report: April 5-11

ROCHELLE — The Rochelle Police Department is investigating a robbery that took place Monday afternoon.

The actual incident happened in the 100 block of First Avenue at 2:25 p.m. The victim said she was approached by someone she knew who asked for money. When she pulled out her wallet to give them a few dollars, the alleged perpetrator grabbed her wallet and took off, taking all her money.

The victim then walked to the Casey’s General Store on South Seventh Street where police were contacted. Because the victim and the alleged robber are minors and students, the department’s resource officer who works in the schools, Officer Jim Jakymiw, was called in to conduct the investigation which is ongoing.

April 5

On April 5 at 6:48 p.m., Rochelle Police cited Jorge Villaneuva-Velazquez, 30, Rochelle, for speeding and no valid driver’s license. He posted an individual bond and is to appear in court May 7.

April 6

On April 6 at 4:36 a.m., Jacob P. Tolan, 22, DeKalb was ticketed for no insurance. He signed a promise to comply and will appear in court May 7.

On April 6 at 11:56 a.m., Cynthia C. Sheehan, 42, Rochelle, was arrested on a Winnebago County warrant. She was released on her own recognizance.

On April 6 at 3:48 p.m., Vince G. Sartino, 33, Rockford, was cited for driving while license suspended. He posted an I bond and is to appear in court May 7.

April 9

On April 9 at 11:22 a.m., Caitlin E. Hardcastle, 36, Rochelle, was arrested on an Ogle County warrant. She paid a $300 fine and will appear in court in Oregon on April 30.

April 11

On April 11 at 12:50 a.m., Trisha A. Booker, 40, Rochelle, was arrested on two warrants, one from Ogle County and the other from Lee County. She also was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, driving while license suspended and driving without lights. She was transported to the Ogle County Jail in Oregon.

On April 11 at 4:23 a.m., Nicholas C. Davis, 36, Rochelle, was arrested on two Ogle County warrants, a DeKalb County warrant as well as two counts of criminal damage to a residence. He was transported to the jail.

On April 11 at 12:03 p.m., was arrested on an Ogle County warrant, driving while license suspended and no valid registration. She was transported to the jail for the warrants and posted an I bond for the other two offenses.
