ROCHELLE — The Rotary club of Rochelle has been in existence since 1943 and is widely known for its service projects.
The Rochelle band shell at Atwood Park is one of the living memorials of their efforts. The Rochelle club also facilitated international friendships and student exchanges.
Occasionally the club is involved in Global projects. One such project is the present one to purchase school desks and chairs to village schools as well as training of teachers near the city of Bhopal in central part of India.
The Rotary club of Bhopal and the Rochelle Rotary Club are working with the Rotary International Foundation to raise funds towards the project in response to the Union Carbide disaster in Bhopal.
