The Rochelle varsity cheerleading team placed fourth out of 16 medium-sized squads at the IHSA Bartonville (Limestone) Sectional this past Saturday and qualified for the IHSA State Championships in Bloomington.
It's Rochelle's first state bid since the 2009-10 school year. The team earned its second straight Northern Illinois Big 12 Conference title earlier this season. The state meet is scheduled for Feb. 2-3.
