Rockford man arrested on charges of armed robbery

DAVIS JUNCTION — Ogle County Sheriff’s detectives made an arrest Monday night following an armed robbery at a gas station Sunday in Davis Junction.
On Sunday at 4:45 p.m., the Ogle County Sheriff’s Office responded to an armed robbery at the BP Gas Station located at 14032 East IL Route 72 in Davis Junction. The investigation revealed a male entered the gas station and while armed with a weapon, stole the cash register drawer.
The male was last seen traveling northbound on IL Route 251 in a silver vehicle.

On Monday at 6:40 p.m., Ogle County detectives executed a search warrant to a residence in the 4400 block of 11th Street in Rockford. Items of evidence were located at the residence and in the silver vehicle. As a result of the search warrant, Jourdan R. Mondragon, 41, of Rockford, was arrested on an outstanding Rockford Police Department warrant and transported to the Winnebago County Jail.
On Tuesday morning, Mondragon was arrested by Ogle County detectives on charges of the alleged armed robbery, a Class X Felony.
Mondgragon will appear in Ogle County court on Aug. 1.
