CRESTON — Ronald Dale Heal, 70, passed away Sunday, March 5 at Kishwaukee Hospital in DeKalb. Ron was born on Dec. 16, 1952 to William D. and Jenelle (Davidson) Heal in Rochelle. On June 12, 1976, he married Jan Ellis in Rochelle. He worked for Price Brothers, which later became PBM and then JW Peters from 1974 to 2008.  In 1999, he started Valley Land Trucking with his friends and was still currently working there.

Ron loved his grandkids, nieces, nephews, daughter-in-law and his dog, Duke, who died five months prior to Ron. He was an avid fan of the Chicago Bears and the Cubs. He enjoyed watching western TV shows and playing euchre with family and friends.

Ron is survived by his wife of 46 years, Jan of Creston; his son, Adam (Jennifer) Heal of Rochelle; three brothers: William Heal of Creston, Chris (Lisa) Heal of Chelan, Washington and Jason (Virginia) Heal of Sterling; two sisters: Linda (Tadson) Bussey of Smyrna, Tennessee and Mary Anchondo of Creston; and three grandchildren: DeLaney, Riley and Sammy Heal.

The visitation will be from 9-11:30 a.m. Monday, March 13 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St., Rochelle. The funeral service will follow the visitation at 11:30 a.m., Monday at the funeral home.
