RTHS’s Garcia selected for Congress of Future Medical Leaders Award of Excellence

Lions Club, RCH Foundation, Kiwanis Golden K help with expenses

ROCHELLE — In September, Rochelle Township High School student Dalila Garcia was selected for the Congress of Future Medical Leaders Award of Excellence for outstanding academic achievement, leadership potential, and determination to serve humanity in the field of medicine.

Garcia will represent RTHS and the state as a delegate at the Congress of Future Medical Leaders June 26-28, 2024 in Boston.

The Rochelle Lions Club, Rochelle Community Hospital Foundation and Kiwanis Golden K of Rochelle made donations to help Garcia make the trip to Boston. Garcia is a past president of the RTHS Key Club, which is sponsored by Kiwanis Golden K.

The Congress of Future Medical Leaders is an honors-only academic program. Students must have a minimum 3.5 GPA, either current or cumulative (or equivalent), to attend. Garcia will be presented with the award at the close of the June meeting.

The Congress of Future Medical Leaders is a high school academic honors program of Bottega University.
