Rochelle — Sandra K. Brown, 74, passed away peacefully and surrounded by her family, on Sunday, Dec. 17, 2017 after a prolonged illness.
She was born May 4th, 1943, in Chicago, to Max and Avis (McCall) Stewart. Sandra was a longtime Rochelle and Dekalb area resident. She worked for DEKALB Ag as an Information Systems Expert for the payroll department until her retirement in March 2000, after 31 years of dedicated service.
Sandra loved gardening in her backyard; growing tomatoes and cucumbers, and then using them to cook her favorite meals. Sandra was very proud of the family she helped create and nurture.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, George Brown, of Rochelle; daughter, Angela Knight; son, Aaron Brown; seven grandchildren; and two brothers.
She was preceded by her parents and one brother.
Private services will be held. In lieu of flowers, a memorial gift fund has been established at St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital in Sandra’s name, and can be accessed at giftfunds.stjude.org/Sandra-Brown.
