ROCHELLE — Sandra Kay Beardin, 81, passed away peacefully Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at her home.  Kay was born on November 6, 1941 to Floyd C. and Pauline B. (Potts) Orman in Rochelle, Illinois. On January 28, 1978, she married James F. Beardin in Rochelle.  Kay worked for the City of Rochelle for 24 years before retiring.

Kay loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren more than anything. She spent untold hours with them and always played at their level, listening and loving them unconditionally.  Kay and golf partner, her husband, Jim, played golf at many courses across the country but loved their time locally at the Rochelle Country Club (Fairways). In the winter months, she loved to play bridge. During recent years, Kay spent time volunteering at the Presbyterian Thrift Shop.

Kay is survived by her husband of 45 years, Jim Beardin of Rochelle; two children: Pam (Tom) Lampley and Randy (Sally) Butler both of Rochelle; brother, Ron (Joan) Orman of Bartlett, IL; sister, Deborah (Dale) Rockwell of Rockford, IL; four grandchildren: Josh (Devon) Lampley, Jaime Lampley, Brandi (Jeff) Casey and Brandon Butler and five great grandchildren: Arriana Lampley, Madess and Kreelynn Mitchell and Waylon and Dakota Casey.
