SHABBONA — Sarah Renee Roesch, 49, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, Feb. 21, 2021. Sarah was born on Nov. 30, 1971 to Gary and Sonja (Toll) Williams in Rochelle. On March 10, 2000, she married Richard R. Roesch at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Sycamore.
She owned the Hometown Barber Shop in Hinckley and concurrently for 21 years at The Junction in DeKalb. Sarah loved walking, kayaking at Lake Holiday and just talking and spending time with friends and family. She was an extremely kind-hearted, caring and considerate person.
Sarah is survived by her husband, Richard; her parents, Gary “Butch” Williams and Sonja McColloch; step son, Mike (Lindsey) Roesch; two sisters, Corena (Sini Vukadin) Williams and Amy (Mike) Williams; two sisters-in-law, Carol (Joe) Bernard and Shirley (Roger) Bullock; two brothers-in-law, Larry (Sandy) Roesch and Gary (Dorothy) Roesch; two grandsons, Jack and Wyatt; best friend, Patty Laurette; and many nieces and nephews.
There will be a public visitation from 10 a.m. to noon on Friday, Feb. 26 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 North Sixth Street, Rochelle. There will be a private family service following the visitation at 12 p.m. on Friday with Pastor Doug Forsberg officiating. On Saturday, Feb. 27 there will be a private Catholic Mass at 11:30 a.m. Both services will be live streamed on the Unger-Horner Funeral Home Facebook page. Private burial will follow the mass at Lindenwood Cemetery in Lindenwood.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Sarah’s memory to Ben Gordon Center.
