ROCHELLE — On Monday, Rochelle School Districts 212 and 231 collaborated with the Ogle County Health Department to administer 225 Moderna COVID-19 vaccinations at Rochelle Township High School for school employees of both districts.
This school vaccination program is part of Phase 1B of Illinois Department of Public Health’s COVID-19 vaccination distribution plan. The second dose of the COVID-19 vaccination program for Rochelle school district employees will take place on Monday, Feb. 22. The vaccination was open on a voluntary basis for all school employees.

“The Rochelle school districts appreciate the OCHD prioritizing local educators as part of Phase 1B as we view the vaccination of school employees as one of many necessary steps in helping to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 in school settings,” Rochelle Superintendent of Schools Jason Harper said. “The Rochelle schools especially appreciate the partnership and collaboration of the Ogle County Health Department’s Emergency Preparedness Coordinator, Mrs. Cherie Rucker. Mrs. Rucker’s planning and communication throughout the process have been important to the success of the program.”
The community is asked to continue to do its part in helping to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 throughout the community.
