Rochelle schools superintendent Jason Harper has announced that all Rochelle Elementary Schools and Rochelle Township High School will be closed on Monday due to the winter storm hitting the area.
According to Harper, decisions regarding extracurricular activities will be made individually later in the day.
Rochelle St. Paul Lutheran School will also be closed on Monday, as are all other regional schools, including Kishwaukee College. Northern Illinois University closed its campus at 6 p.m. on Sunday night and announced the campus will not reopen until 10 a.m. on Monday.
Currently, the Ogle County Sheriff's Office is advising motorists to stay off the roadways due to heavy snowfall and heavy winds blowing snow across the roadways.
