APACHE JUNCTION, Ariz. — Scott Thomas Eckhardt, 44, of Apache Junction, Ariz., passed away suddenly on July 17, 2018 at Scottsdale Osborne Hospital in Scottsdale, Ariz.
Scott was born on March 8,1974 at Rockford Memorial Hospital, the son of Tom and Linda Eckhardt.
Scott had a big heart, loved working with the public, he had a true gift of gab that could charm anyone. He loved the WWE and was always saying “let’s get ready to rumble.” He was always quoting lines from movies.
Most of all, Scott loved his family, his mom, dad, his sister, his children and his grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Bill and Louise Eckhardt of Rochelle who owned Eckhardt’s Dining for many years and grandparents Henry and Lorene Eckhardt.
Scott is survived by his father, Tom (Nancy) Eckhardt of Hillsboro, Ore.; his mother, Linda Wittig (Charlie) Dunn of Idaho; one sister, Shelley (Frank) Insalaco of Ethridge, Tenn.; his four children, Thomas (Kayla) Eckhardt of Apache Junction, Ariz., Jacob (Madison) Eckhardt who is serving in the Army stationed at Ft. Collins, Colo., Haylee Eckhardt of Mesa, Ariz., and Logan Eckhardt of Lafayette, Tenn.; three grandchildren, Josefina Eckhardt, Jasper Eckhardt and Tobias Eckhardt; and his niece Franki Lee Campanali and nephew, Nick Insalaco.
Scott was an organ donor. Before the surgery the surgeons had a moment of silence then declared “Let’s get ready to rumble!” After the surgery they were quite excited because his organs were beautiful. That day three families got their miracle because of Scott’s giving generosity.
A memorial service was held on Saturday July 21 in Apache Junction, Ariz.
The family would like to encourage everyone to become organ donors as you could be someone’s miracle.
