ROCHELLE — Students in the fourth-grade classrooms at Central School have transitioned to remote learning after Rochelle School District 231 became aware of a symptomatic COVID-19 positive individual in the fourth-grade in-person classrooms at Central School. The district released a joint statement alongside the Ogle County Health Department on Monday, Nov. 9.
“Out of an abundance of caution, all students in both first-grade classrooms will be moved to remote learning for a required 14-day quarantine,” the statement wrote. “Quarantined students will return on Thursday, Nov. 19. The school district has communicated this situation to parents involved. Additionally, the Ogle County Health Department will be calling the households of close contacts. All areas of the building and/or classrooms potentially impacted are being cleaned and disinfected in accordance with recommendations from the CDC and IDPH. For all other students attending Central School and other Rochelle schools, there is no indication of a larger spread of COVID-19. The district continues to work with the Ogle County Health Department to determine the best course of action for all students.”
