FLAGG CENTER — Sherry Joy Young, 69, of Flagg Center, passed away Saturday, Dec. 22, 2018, at KSB Hospital in Dixon. She was born May 21, 1949 in Rochelle, the daughter of George “Don” and Joyce (Rollings) Young.
Sherry was a true animal lover and often times preferred animals over people. She liked to collect coins and travel. Within the past few years, she took several trips to the beach with her daughter, son-in-law and his mother, Sharon. She lived in several states, including Texas, Virginia and Indiana.
Sherry was just a little gypsy at heart and taught everyone she knew not to judge the book by its cover.
Sherry is survived by her daughter, Michelle (Rick) Pease of Flagg Center; two grandsons, Tyler Dylan Pease of Ripon, Wisconsin, and Alec Micheal Pease of Pullman, Washington; a brother, Clyde Young of Chana; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Don and Joyce, Sherry is preceded in death by two brothers, Micheal Gary Young and Kenny Lynn Young.
Cremation care has been provided by Unger-Horner Funeral Home, Rochelle. A celebration of life will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 5, at the VFW Post 3878, 318 4th Ave. in Rochelle.
