On Nov. 15 at approximately 1:04 p.m., deputies responded to a two vehicle accident on IL Route 38 near the intersection of Woodlawn Road.
An eastbound car being driven by Brianna Baker, 19, of Rochelle, was unable to maintain control of the vehicle on the snow covered roadway. Baker’s vehicle struck the rear of a semi tractor-trailer being driven by Jose Contreras-Barrera, 31, of Mexico. No injuries were reported as a result of the accident, which remains under investigation.
Emergency personnel also repsoned to a second accident in the 19000 block of IL Route 38 eastbound. A Ford Escape driven by Demi Smith, 21, of Creston, was traveling eastbound when Smith lost control and slid into the westbound land. Smith’s vehicle was struck by a westbound semi tractor trailer driven by Alan White, 52, of Maple Park. Both Smith and White refused medical treatment at the scene.
