ROCHELLE — The Hubs sophomore baseball team left no doubts in its doubleheader with the Plano Reapers this past Saturday, dominating the two-game set by respective scores of 17-1 and 17-0 to improve to 15-8-1 on the season.
Rochelle took a 3-1 lead over Plano in the first game before pouring in seven runs in both the third and fourth innings to put the game out of the Reapers’ reach. Freshman Kaleb Hess went 2-for-3 with a double and three RBIs, while Mason DeLille belted a home run to aid the Hub offense.
Brady Shank threw a complete game for Rochelle, firing five innings and striking out three batters while surrendering no walks or earned runs. Hayden Jones did the pitching in game two, throwing five innings and striking out seven while allowing just one hit.
Noah Knight and Anthony Hueramo combined to go 6-for-7 with six RBIs, with Michael Eyster and Zack Bernardin adding two RBIs. Garrett Hackbarth and Brandon Johnson each notched one RBI as well.
