SYCAMORE — The first chunk of Tuesday night’s game against the Sycamore Lady Spartans may not have gone the Rochelle sophomore girls basketball team’s way, but the Lady Hubs battled hard at the end, scoring a game-high seven points in the fourth quarter of the team’s 37-13 loss.
The girls got off to a rocky start, with Sycamore jumping ahead 9-2 in the first quarter and taking a 16-6 lead at halftime. Cheyenne Watson nailed two free throws to put Rochelle on the board early, while Emilee Dueringer and Camryn Turner each made a basket to score four points for the Lady Hubs in the second quarter.
“Camryn has shown great improvement in the past few games,” head coach Tim Duncan said. “She’s taken good shots and done a nice job driving to the basket.”
