ROCHELLE – Tilton Elementary School will be hosting a special performance and fundraiser that will be entertaining and beneficial for both kids and their families.

During the school day, Chicago magician Tim Hannig will present his Pro Kids Show, a character-building assembly. That evening, Tilton Elementary will be hosting its 13thAnnual Souper Supper fundraiser to raise funds for the Tilton PTO.

The fundraiser will be held on Friday, Feb. 28. from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., and will include an all-you-can-eat soup dinner, served with Texas Roadhouse rolls and dessert. The evening will also feature a silent auction, raffle items and an interactive, family oriented performance from Hannig.

Hannig has performed at many locations such as Six Flags, the White House and England. He is also the first person to win both first place and the People’s Choice Award twice at the Chicago Magic Competition.

His performances focus on more than entertaining by including messages for the students and families. Those messages touch on topics like honesty, respect, cooperation and responsibility.

“The assembly for the kids during the day has a positive character building message,” said Trisha Vaughn, Tilton PTO president. “The show at night is a family show that focuses on topics that deal more with the entire family.”

The kids enjoyed the show last year and the school expects the same reaction from the kids this year. Hannig interacts with the audience during his shows by using music, magic, puppets and fun.

The Souper Supper fundraiser and Pro Kids Show are open to the public and tickets can be purchased prior to the event for $4. Tickets can also be purchased at the door for $5, and children 4 and under are free. Tickets can be purchased beforehand by contacting the Tilton School office at 815-562-2607.
