SYCAMORE — Kishwaukee Special Recreation Association would like to thank the Fox Valley Marathon Club for their generous donation to KSRA for the organization’s scholarship fund.
The crew volunteered for the Fox Valley Marathon PR Half on April 23 to earn $300 for the KSRA scholarship fund. The KSRA crew had a great time and plan on assisting in the September race as well. This is another super way of how the crew supports the Kishwaukee SRA’s families.
Kishwaukee SRA is special recreation organization that offers community-based Recreation Therapy programs to the community and Inclusion services through its five member park districts that assists their operations through a Special Recreation tax levy – DeKalb, Flagg-Rochelle, Genoa Township, Sandwich, and Sycamore. Kishwaukee SRA’s mission is “to serve all residents who have special needs and to facilitate the inclusion of these individuals into leisure programs.”
The funds earned through the volunteer opportunity with the Fox Valley Marathon Group will be used to offer scholarships to participants that would otherwise be unable to attend Camp Maple Leaf and other community based Recreation Therapy programs this summer.
