Jessee Infante finished his soccer career at Rochelle Township High School as one of the greatest scorers in program history. The senior forward will be taking his talents to the next level after he signed his National Letter of Intent with Kishwaukee College this past week.

Infante will be reuniting with two of his teammates when he suits up for the Kougars next season, joining Rochelle senior defenders Ruben Herrera and Josue Almaraz, who each signed with Kishwaukee College in March. Infante broke the single-season scoring record with the Hubs this year, totaling 43 goals while adding a team-high 28 assists.

“I chose Kishwaukee because it’s close to home,” Infante said. “I also chose Kishwaukee for soccer reasons because Ruben and Josue are going there, and they made the decision so much easier for me… I’m looking forward to seeing how we can play at a higher level. We knew we were able to compete at the high school level, so now it’s about whether or not we can do the same thing at the college level.”

Infante spent four years with the Rochelle boys soccer program, playing all four seasons with the varsity team. The two-time Northern Illinois Big 12 All-Conference First Team striker started his high school career in the midfield before transitioning to forward his junior year.

Infante led Rochelle to its best record in school history this year, as the Hubs finished 20-1-1 overall while winning the program’s first regional title since 2012 and the first conference championship since 2004. Rochelle also made its first-ever sectional championship appearance this season. Infante is one of four Hubs who have committed to playing college soccer, joining Herrera, Almaraz and Mason DeLille (Carthage College).

“I think Jessee will make a great addition to the Kishwaukee College team,” Rochelle head coach Brad Male said. “I look forward to seeing Jessee continue playing at the next level. Jessee’s an excellent playmaker and he’s very aggressive. I think Jessee, Ruben and Josue will continue to work how they have been, and I’m looking forward to big things from them.”

Infante said he plans to study criminal justice at Kishwaukee College in hopes of possibly becoming a police officer. He said he will continue working on his conditioning and his handles in preparation for the college level.

“Playing at Rochelle has definitely helped me mature as a player,” Infante said. “I do whatever’s most effective for the team. I’m more of an attacking player so I feel that’s my strong suit. I’m going to go out there and try to score goals.”
