ROCHELLE — Dropping two of their three games to the LaSalle-Peru Cavaliers this past week, the Hubs freshman baseball team returned to action on Monday to start a three-game series with the Sterling Golden Warriors.

Nolan Andersen and Ethan Etes each scored one run and notched one hit, but the Golden Warriors wound up on top by a final score of 10-2. The loss bumps the Rochelle freshman squad down to 7-8 overall.

Gavin Ansteth and Keegan Davis also recorded base hits for the Hubs, with Ansteth stealing one base. Etes stole three times on Monday to lead the team.

Andersen struck out nine batters through three and two-thirds innings, and both Ansteth and Devlen Buh pitched in relief, with Ansteth striking out two.
