ROCHELLE — The Rochelle Christian Food Pantry was the recipient of more than $1,800 in food and cash donations thanks to the generosity of Sullivans Foods’ customers.
During this past holiday season, the Rochelle grocer held a two-month campaign to benefit the local food pantry. Sullivans manager Jeramie Reatherford explained customers were given the option to purchase a paper grocery bag for $10, and in turn Sullivans packed the bag with $15 worth of groceries.
Reatherford also said it was the community that pulled together and made the campaign successful.
“Sullivans was merely an outlet for customers to donate to the community,” Reatherford said. “We thank the community for contributing…if it wasn’t for the community we couldn’t have provided what we did.”
