STILLMAN VALLEY — A 17-year-old male was arrested in connection with a threat made at Stillman Valley High School this week on social media.
On the evening of March 14, the Meridian School District contacted the Ogle County Sheriff’s Office and reported a Stillman Valley High School student had made a threat on social media to bring a weapon to school and cause harm.
Sheriff deputies met with the student, a 17-year-old male from Davis Junction, and his parents. The male was told he was not allowed to attend school on March 15 and the male complied.
On March 15 the male was arrested for disorderly conduct and transported to the Ogle County Jail. The male was later released to the custody of a parent and will appear in juvenile court at a later date.
Sheriff Brian VanVickle commended the students of the Stillman Valley High School that brought this threat to the attention of staff members.
